TVD: Season 3/Ep. 10 – Advance Preview

Jeremy’s Gone Rogue: Jeremy’s gotten a little unstable since he was forced to give up Anna and his relationship with Bonnie ended. Alaric is concerned because he’s been cheating in school and both he and Elena are surprised when they learn he was fired from the Grill.  He’s been spending his down-time hanging out with Tyler, which his family isn’t too pleased about.  But Jeremy hasn’t lost all his reason and quickly catches on to what’s happening in Mystic Falls.  This new, more proactive Jeremy is even armed with a cross-bow and a really big knife.

Tyler’s Loyalties Are Questioned: When Jeremy gets huffy with his sister and Alaric for their concern, he decides to invite Tyler inside for dinner. Elena and Alaric are both extremely wary of Tyler and his motivations because he was sired by Klaus.  They ask him to explain his connection to the Original, but aren’t pleased with his answers.  After all, as Elena says, “Klaus has terrorized every one of us and you’re just blindly loyal to him”.  “You’re over-thinking it.  I can still make my own decisions”, Tyler shoots back, upset that they’re questioning his choices like Caroline did.  Can you, though, Tyler?  It will soon become clear whose side Tyler is on.

TVD: Season 3/Ep. 10 – “The New Deal” spoilers

How is Tyler and Caroline’s relationship and what can you say about their storyline? (@slupu) Tyler (Michael Trevino) has been sired by Klaus, so the bottom line is, as much as he thinks he can still make decisions for himself and be trusted, let alone trustworthy, his actions in “The New Deal” prove otherwise. He is like a puppet being controlled by Klaus, and though Caroline (Candice Accola) is strangely absent in this episode, we know that will not bode well for the future of their relationship, just as it does not bode well for any newfound friendships he has struck up in the beginning of “The New Deal.”

The Vampire Diaries returns to The CW on January 5th at 8pm.

TVD: LA TV Insider Examiner’s picks: Best TV Moments of 2011

Tyler transforms on The Vampire Diaries. True, this first happened at the tale end of last year, but the biggest moments happened as he got more and more comfortable with his true self. In fact, we would argue that the biggest moment of that show was when he showed his mother (Susan Walters) what he really was in “The Hybrid.” His motives were pure, not to upset her or exert his own power over her, but because he wanted her to stop looking at and treating Caroline (Candice Accola) like she was a monster when he was the same. Or perhaps worse. It was a dark and beautiful moment made even more special by the turn he took when Klaus (Joseph Morgan) got ahold of him.
